Seaton Carew Golf Club (Brabazon)

Seaton Carew Golf Club, established in 1874, stands as the tenth-oldest golf club in England. Located on the coast in County Durham, it's a traditional links course known for its sandy soil, undulating greens, and challenging bunkers. Originally a 14-hole course, it was expanded to 18 holes in 1891. A significant redesign took place in 1925 under the guidance of Dr. Alister MacKenzie. In the 1970s, four additional holes, known as the Brabazon Loop, were added by Frank Pennink, resulting in the club having 22 holes and allowing for multiple course configurations, including the Brabazon course. The Brabazon course, incorporating Pennink's holes, is considered the longest and one of the toughest layouts at the club. Seaton Carew has a history of hosting prestigious amateur events, including the Brabazon Trophy on two occasions.
