Cleveland Golf Club ( Golf Club Course)

Cleveland Golf Club, established in 1887, holds the distinction of being the oldest and only true Championship links course in Yorkshire, England. Situated near the mouth of the River Tees, the course offers a classic links experience. Over its history, notable architects such as Old Tom Morris, Harry Colt, and Donald Steel have contributed to its design. Steel was responsible for the creation of three new holes in 2000. The course is known for being flat and easy to walk, with strategically placed bunkers providing a test of golf, particularly when the wind is up. Cleveland Golf Club has hosted significant amateur events, including the English Golf Union County Finals in 2007 and the Yorkshire Amateur Championship in 2017. While it is a championship links, it is not consistently cited as a venue for Open Championship Qualifying, though it has hosted other notable competitions.
