Dundonald Links is a masterclass in risk and reward. Designed for major events like The Open Final Qualifying and the Scottish Women’s Open, it’s tournament-ready yet surprisingly playable. Well placed contours, clever bunkering, and shifting winds create a constant chess match between ambition & caution. If you can trust it this is a course to let the driver go to work, if you can shape shots your day is going to geta whole lot easier. If not, then focus your attention on your approach shots, being on the right tier of the green will be the key decider between a birdie and a double bogey.

Dundonald Links, situated on Scotland's Ayrshire coast, offers a compelling modern links challenge with a rich, albeit interrupted, history. Originally laid out by Open Champion Willie Fernie in 1911, the land was significantly impacted by the World Wars. The current iteration, designed by the renowned Kyle Phillips and opened in 2005, transformed the site into a course known for its impressive undulations, strategic gorse and fescue, and expansive, subtly contoured greens. While not directly on the coastline, Phillips masterfully utilized the sandy soil to create a links experience featuring wide fairways and thoughtfully placed hazards, including burns that come into play on several holes. The course has earned a reputation as a stern test, capable of challenging players of all abilities. Adding to its prestige, Dundonald Links has been selected as a venue for Final Qualifying for The Open Championship from 2023 through 2026, highlighting its standing as a championship-quality links.
