Event & Competition Terms

1. Event Entry

Entry is confirmed only when:

• The player or organiser has completed the required registration.
• Any required payment has been received.
• Golf Sherpa or the organiser has accepted the entry.

We may refuse or cancel entry where eligibility requirements are not met.

2. Player Information

Players may be required to provide:

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Handicap or playing ability
• Home club
• Dietary requirements
• Accessibility requirements
• Emergency contact information
• App profile details

Players must provide accurate information.

3. Handicap and Eligibility

Events may use handicap limits, playing handicap calculations, competition allowances or eligibility criteria.

Players may be asked to provide evidence of handicap, playing ability or club membership where relevant.

Golf Sherpa is not responsible for inaccurate event results caused by incorrect or misleading player information.

4. Rules and Formats

Each event may have its own rules, format and scoring method.

These may include:

• Stableford
• Stroke play
• Match play
• Scramble
• Team events
• Ryder Cup-style formats
• Bespoke event formats

The organiser’s decision on event format and scoring will be final, subject to any formal rules stated for the event.

5. Live Scoring and Leaderboards

Live scoring and leaderboards are provided to improve the event experience.

They may be provisional until checked and confirmed.

Final results may be reviewed and adjusted where:

• Scores were entered incorrectly
• Handicap information was inaccurate
• There was a technical error
• A player breached event rules
• The organiser identifies a scoring issue

6. Player Conduct

Players must:

• Follow venue rules and dress codes
• Behave respectfully
• Avoid slow play
• Follow safety instructions
• Respect staff, volunteers and other players
• Use the app and scoring system honestly

We may remove a player from an event without refund for misconduct.

7. Weather and Course Conditions

Golf events may be affected by weather, course closures, darkness, safety decisions or venue restrictions.

Golf Sherpa will work with the venue and organiser to make reasonable adjustments where possible.

Refunds, credits or rearrangements will depend on the event terms, venue policy and the circumstances.

8. Photography and Media

By attending a Golf Sherpa event, attendees acknowledge that photography and video may be captured for event reporting, marketing, sponsor visibility and social media.

Anyone who does not wish to be photographed should notify Golf Sherpa before the event where possible.

9. Prizes and Sponsors

Prize availability, sponsor involvement and prize terms may vary by event.

Prizes are non-transferable unless stated otherwise.

We may substitute a prize of similar value where necessary.

10. Event Cancellation by Golf Sherpa

We may cancel, postpone or change an event due to:

• Weather
• Low numbers
• Venue issues
• Safety concerns
• Supplier failure
• Force majeure
• Operational reasons outside our reasonable control

Where we cancel an event and cannot provide a suitable alternative, we will explain refund or credit options.

11. Liability

Players participate at their own risk.

Golf involves inherent risks, including injury, property damage and weather exposure.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
