Sherborne Golf Club
Parkland Course in Sherborne, England
Sherborne Golf Club, founded in 1894, is a mature 18-hole parkland course located in Dorset, England. Originally a 9-hole layout, it was expanded and redesigned in 1936 by the renowned Open Champion and course architect James Braid. The course underwent further alterations in 2002. Playing just over 6,400 yards from the back tees with a par of 72, the course is set on undulating terrain offering views over Somerset and the Blackmore Vale. While not overly long, it demands good course management and accurate shot-making, with wind often being a significant factor. The layout features a mix of holes, including memorable par threes and challenging par fives that utilise the natural contours of the land. The club welcomes visitors and offers a classic parkland golfing experience.
