Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club

Established in 1891, Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club holds the distinction of being the oldest golf club in Dorset. Originally sited on the West Cliff, the club relocated to its current East Cliff position in 1911 and expanded to 18 holes in 1921. The course, a blend of links and cliff-top terrain, is set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty along the Jurassic Coast, offering stunning views of Lyme Bay, Chesil Beach, and the surrounding countryside. While not overly long, the course presents a sporting challenge, particularly when the wind is up. A notable feature is the signature 6th hole, a par-3 with a dramatic drop from an elevated tee to a green far below, often cited as one of the best holes in golf. Stone walls and sculpted bunkers are also characteristic of the layout. The clubhouse, rebuilt in 2002, provides modern facilities and enjoys panoramic views.
