Ashley Wood Golf Club ( (Winter))

Ashley Wood Golf Club, established in 1896, is a historic downland course in Dorset, England. Built by Sir William Henry Smith-Marriott, it was the fifth golf club formed in the county. Originally a nine-hole course featuring grass bunkers and incorporating ancient pre-Roman earthworks into its layout, it was extended to 18 holes in 1994. The course is known for its well-drained chalk base, allowing it to remain open for play throughout the year, including winter. It offers undulating fairways and includes four holes set within the ancient Ashley Woods. While not among the longest courses, the final five holes provide a notable challenge. The club's professional has reached final Open Qualifying multiple times.
