Painswick Golf Club, established in 1891, is set atop the Cotswolds escarpment in Gloucestershire, England, offering views of the surrounding countryside and the Welsh Mountains. The course was originally laid out as a nine-hole track by David Brown and was later extended to 18 holes in 1907. The course is known for its unique character, featuring undulating terrain, blind shots, and incorporating the earthworks of an Iron Age hill fort. Despite measuring less than 5,000 yards with a par of 67, it presents a notable challenge, demanding accuracy and strategic thinking rather than just long hitting. The course has previously been used as a venue for Open Regional Qualifying.
