Middlesbrough Golf Club, established in 1908, is a parkland course situated south of Middlesbrough with views of the Cleveland Hills. Originally founded at Saltersgill, the club moved to its current location in 1938, with a course designed by five-time Open Champion James Braid. The course, officially opened in 1939, has seen modifications over the years, including new holes added in 1990 and greens remodelled in 1999. The layout presents an attractive and challenging experience, utilising the natural contours of the land. While not a regular Open Qualifying venue, amateurs from Middlesbrough Golf Club have participated in Regional Qualifying events for The Open Championship in the past.
