Nestled in the picturesque Shropshire countryside, Hawkstone Park Golf Club offers a golfing experience steeped in history, set against the dramatic backdrop of the medieval castle ruins and 18th-century Follies. The club is home to two engaging 18-hole layouts, the Hawkstone and Championship courses, alongside a 6-hole academy course. The older Hawkstone course, dating back to 1920, bears the influence of James Braid, who provided recommendations for its reconfiguration in 1930. This classic parkland test was later restored by Alex Lyle, father of Masters and Open champion Sandy Lyle, who himself honed his skills here. The Championship course, a more modern addition from 1995 designed by Brian Huggett, presents a different challenge with hints of American-style design featuring water hazards. While Hawkstone Park has a rich golfing heritage and connections to a Major champion, there is no readily available information to suggest it has hosted Open Championship Qualifying. Located in England, the club provides a tranquil and historic setting for a round of golf.
