City Of Newcastle Golf Club

The City of Newcastle Golf Club, established in October 1891, holds a notable place in the history of golf in England. Initially located on the Town Moor, the club moved to its current site at Grange Farm in Gosforth in 1907. The course was originally laid out by the legendary Harry Vardon. Significant alterations were later made in 1913 by Alister MacKenzie, a name synonymous with some of the world's most revered courses. While changes were also implemented in 1962, elements of both Vardon's and MacKenzie's original designs can still be found within the course's character. The course is an 18-hole parkland layout. The club has a history of hosting county events.
