Nestled in 400 acres of parkland in South Wales, St. Pierre, A Marriott Hotel and Country Club offers a golfing experience steeped in history. The premier course, the Old Course, a mature parkland layout, dates back to 1962 and was originally designed by Charles Kenneth Cotton, later updated by European Golf Design (Ross McMurray). It's renowned for its challenging tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkering, and the prominent 11-acre lake that influences play, particularly on the famous par-3 18th hole, demanding a precise shot over water to an elevated green. St. Pierre's Old Course has a rich tournament pedigree, having hosted prestigious events such as the Curtis Cup, the Solheim Cup, and numerous European Tour events, including eight British Masters championships. The club also features a second 18-hole course, the Mathern Course, offering a different test of golf. A visit here provides a journey through golfing history in a picturesque Welsh setting.
