Dewstow Golf Club (Park)
Parkland Course in Newport, Wales
Dewstow Golf Club, located in Caerwent, near Newport, Wales, featured two 18-hole courses, the Valley and the Park. The Park course, a parkland style course, opened in 1993 and had a par of 69 with a length of 6226 yards from the white tees. It was known for having a 690-yard par 6 hole, believed to be the only one in the country at the time, and also featured a totem pole on the 15th hole until its closure in 2014. The club, which was founded in 1988, also offered a driving range, practice area, putting green, and clubhouse facilities including a restaurant, pro shop, and changing rooms. Visitors were welcome daily. The entire Dewstow Golf Club facility closed permanently on March 31, 2017, due to financial pressures.
