Wilpshire Golf Club, established in 1890 in Lancashire, England, holds the distinction of being the oldest golf club in East Lancashire. Originally a nine-hole layout, the course expanded to 18 holes by 1909. The current routing, largely in place since 1925, benefited from the expertise of notable architects H.S. Colt and the legendary James Braid, who advised on improvements. The course presents a characterful blend of parkland and classic moorland terrain, featuring the inherent challenges of upland heath with its distinctive grasses and occasional heather. While not overly long by contemporary standards, the design incorporates rolling fairways, strategic bunkering, and undulating greens that demand thoughtful play. Situated in the scenic Ribble Valley, the course offers expansive views of the surrounding countryside from its higher points.
