Accrington and District Golf Club
Parkland Course in Accrington, England
Accrington and District Golf Club, established in 1893, has a history rooted in Lancashire, England. The club's original nine-hole course was located at Coppice, Peel Park, moving to its current Aspin Valley site in 1908. The course was later extended and reconstructed to 18 holes, reopening in 1928, with input sought from James Braid. The parkland course is known for its tree-lined fairways and can be a good test for golfers. The course measures over 6000 yards from the white tees with a par of 70. While not a regular Open Qualifying venue, a notable moment in the club's history occurred in 1988 when Trevor Foster, the club's head greenkeeper at the time, qualified for The Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Annes and briefly led the tournament during the first round.
