Burnley Golf Club (Glen View)
Moorland Course in Burnley, England
Burnley Golf Club, also known as Glen View, is a moorland course in Lancashire, England, with a history dating back to 1905. Initially laid out by George Lowe, the professional at Lytham St Annes, the course was redesigned in 1908 by Alec (Sandy) Herd, a former British Open Champion. James Braid, a five-time British Open winner and renowned architect, visited in 1929, introducing new holes and bunkers, elements that largely remain today. The course is situated on the edge of the Pennine hills, offering undulating fairways and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, including Pendle Hill and the Ribble Valley. It has previously served as a Regional Open Qualifying venue from 2010 to 2014.
