Pleasington Golf Club, founded in 1891, has a rich history shaped by early designers George Lowe and Alex Herd, with later input from James Braid and contemporary renovations by Ken Moodie (Ken Moody). Set amidst the picturesque Lancashire countryside, the course presents an engaging mix of heathland and parkland holes. Its character is defined by rolling terrain and a sandy base ensuring good drainage. Notably, Pleasington has been a venue for Open Championship Regional Qualifying on twelve occasions, a testament to its challenging layout. It is recognised as a premier inland course in the North of England.
