Oswestry Golf Club, nestled in the Shropshire countryside of England, boasts a rich history dating back to 1903. Originally situated on Llanymynech Hill, the club relocated to its current parkland setting at Aston Park in the early 1930s. The esteemed architect James Braid, known for his work at Carnoustie and Gleneagles, designed the course at Aston Park. The course, largely unchanged since its opening in 1931, measures just over 6000 yards and is a par 70. It is characterized by undulating terrain, tree-lined fairways, and well-bunkered, sometimes tricky two-tiered greens, demanding accuracy and thoughtful course management. Notably, the club has been home to Ryder Cup players and a European PGA winner. While not a regular Open Qualifying venue, the club's heritage and design by James Braid make it a noteworthy stop for those exploring golf in England.
