Gog Magog Golf Club (Old Course)

Nestled on the historic Gog Magog Hills just south of Cambridge, the Old Course at Gog Magog Golf Club offers a classic golf experience with a rich history. Established in 1901, the course has evolved with input from notable architects like Willie Park Jr. Junior, James Braid, and most recently, Martin Hawtree. Built on free-draining chalk downland, the course provides year-round golf with varied holes and elevation changes, starting with a steady climb that offers expansive views over Cambridge and the surrounding fens, even as far as Ely Cathedral on a clear day. While the Wandlebury Course at Gog Magog has previously hosted Regional Qualifying for The Open, the Old Course is a fine test of accuracy rather than just length, and is well-regarded for its character and historical features.
