Ely City Golf Club, situated in Cambridgeshire, England, is a parkland course with a history dating back to the early 1960s. Initially opening as a 9-hole layout in 1961 on the site of a former prisoner of war camp, it was later expanded to 18 holes in 1973 with a design influenced by Henry Cotton. The official opening of the 18-hole course in July 1973 was marked by a challenge match between Lee Trevino and Hugh Baiocchi. The course is known for demanding straight driving and accurate iron play due to the maturity of its trees and its compact nature. While not consistently listed among the top courses in the UK, it is considered one of the finer courses in East Anglia and has hosted Regional Qualifying for the Open Championship.
