Barton-on-Sea Golf Club, situated on the coastal cliff in Hampshire, England, offers a compelling blend of history and engaging golf. Founded in 1897, the club's 27 holes are a combination of the original Harry Colt design from 1932 and newer holes added in 1992 by J. Hamilton Stutt. This results in a course with a diverse character, incorporating elements of links, parkland, lakes, and heathland. The Becton and Needles nines are often favored for an 18-hole round, presenting a good test for golfers of various abilities with the added challenge of coastal breezes and breathtaking sea views. A notable feature is the island green on the Needles nine. While not consistently ranked among the UK's top courses, it is considered a high-quality venue on the South Coast.
