Barton-On-Sea Golf Club, perched on the coastal cliff between Highcliffe and Milford-on-Sea in England, boasts a rich history dating back to 1897. While golf was first played on a nine-hole layout, the club evolved, with acclaimed architects like Harry Vardon contributing to earlier designs. The current 27-hole configuration, completed in 1992, is a blend of the original 1932 Harry Colt design and later work by J. Hamilton Stutt. The popular Becton and Needles nines combine to form a challenging 18-hole experience. The course offers a diverse test, incorporating elements often found in links, parkland, and heathland layouts, with coastal breezes frequently adding to the challenge. Players can enjoy stunning views across the Solent towards the iconic Needles on the Isle of Wight from many holes, including the memorable par-3 island green on the Needles nine. The club has previously served as a venue for Regional Open Qualifying.
