Conwy Golf Club

Conwy Golf Club, officially established as Caernarvonshire Golf Club in 1890, is a classic links course situated on the Morfa Conwy peninsula in Wales. While golf was first played on the site in 1869, the initial 18-hole layout was designed by Jack Morris (J. Morris), nephew of Old Tom Morris. The course has seen various modifications over its history, including significant changes by Frank Pennink in the 1970s and later work by Brian Huggett and Neil Coles in the 1980s. More recently, Ebert (Martin Ebert) has undertaken refinements. The course offers a challenging test with typical links features such as pot bunkers and undulating greens, set against the stunning backdrop of Conwy Mountain and the Conwy Estuary. A notable point in its history is hosting Final Qualifying for The Open Championship in 2006, the first and only time this has been held in Wales.
