Woodlands Manor Golf Club, situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Kent, England, offers a parkland layout with a rich history. The club was founded in 1929, with the original 18-hole course designed by six-time Open Champion John Henry Taylor, opening in 1930. J.H. Taylor and Henry Cotton famously played the inaugural round. The course saw an interruption during World War II, reopening in 1968 with a significant redesign by renowned architect Neil Coles. The course is known for its tree-lined fairways and undulating terrain. Notably, the 10th hole, known as 'The Eiger,' is a challenging uphill par 3, while the 18th is a memorable downhill par 3 played over a road to a small green. The course is built on chalk, which is said to help it drain quickly and remain dry.
