Wildernesse Golf Club
Parkland Course in Sevenoaks, England
Established in 1890, Wildernesse Golf Club is a mature parkland course located in Seal, Kent. The club has a rich history, with the original layout's architect unknown, but James Braid, of Gleneagles fame, made significant design changes, including the addition of the 5th hole in 1929. The course is known for its tree-lined fairways and relatively small, undulating greens, demanding accuracy and strategic play rather than just distance. While not overly long by modern standards at just over 6,500 yards, Wildernesse provides a good test, with the front nine generally considered the more challenging. The course has a proud heritage of hosting prestigious events, including previously serving as a Regional Qualifying course for The Open Championship.
