Walton Heath Golf Club (New Course)
Heathland Course in Tadworth, England
Walton Heath's New Course, designed by Herbert Fowler, opened as a nine-hole layout in 1907 and was extended to 18 holes in 1913. It shares the same heathland setting as the esteemed Old Course and is recognized as a challenging championship course in its own right. The course is characterized by its open heathland, often demanding both aerial and ground-based shots to navigate effectively. Heather and strategically placed bunkers are key features. While the Old Course is perhaps more widely known, the New Course offers a different, equally demanding test of golf, with holes moving in various directions. Walton Heath has a rich history of hosting significant events, including the Ryder Cup, European Opens, and notably, it has served as a venue for U.S. Open Final Qualifying.
