Burhill Golf Club (Old Course)

Burhill Golf Club's Old Course, established in 1907, is a parkland layout with hints of heathland set within the historic Burhill estate in Surrey, England. Designed by two-time Open Champion Willie Park Jr. the course is known for its strategic bunkering and tricky, undulating greens, which are said to slope towards the River Mole. The Old Course offers a classic test of golf that emphasizes shot-making and working the ball. The club has a rich history, with the clubhouse residing in a Georgian mansion dating back to 1726. Notably, the estate was requisitioned during WWII and served as a workplace for Barnes Wallis, the inventor of the 'Bouncing Bomb.' While perhaps not as widely celebrated as some of its Surrey neighbours, the Old Course at Burhill has a solid reputation and has previously served as a Regional Qualifying venue for The Open and a qualifying venue for the Senior Open.
