The Kent & Surrey Golf & Country Club

The Kent & Surrey Golf & Country Club, established in 1975, offered an 18-hole, par 71 parkland course set in the countryside bordering Kent and Surrey. The course, designed by David Williams, measured 6,423 yards from the yellow tees and featured tree-lined fairways and water hazards. A notable hole was the scenic 13th, a par 3 played over a pond. The course underwent renovations and improvements over the years, including the planting of some 20,000 trees. While the course itself had its merits, particularly the challenging ninth hole with its protective water moat, reviews from golfers in later years often mentioned the need for significant redevelopment and investment in the clubhouse and facilities. The club was put up for sale in 2009, with part of the property, including one of the 18-hole courses, being sold. In 2023, a retirement housing developer acquired a portion of the former club's land. There is no information to suggest that The Kent & Surrey Golf & Country Club was ever used as an Open Qualifying location; courses like Littlestone in Kent and Walton Heath in Surrey have a history of hosting such events.
