Sunningdale Golf Club (Old Course)

Sunningdale Golf Club, located in Berkshire, England, is home to the acclaimed Old Course. Designed by Willie Park Jr. and opening in 1901, the Old Course is a classic heathland layout known for its undulating terrain, heather, gorse, and pine trees. Harry Colt, the club's first secretary, also made some notable changes to the layout, including the placement of several greens. The course was considered quite long when it first opened, its popularity coinciding with the advent of the Haskell ball. A notable feature is the presence of a man-made water hazard on the 5th hole, reportedly the first in the UK. Sunningdale has a rich history of hosting significant amateur and professional events, including The Open Championship Qualifying, the Walker Cup, and the Senior Open Championship. Bobby Jones famously shot a 66 here during qualifying for the 1926 Open Championship.
