Seaford Golf Club, locally known as Seaford Blatchington, holds the distinction of being Sussex's oldest golf club, with roots tracing back to 1887. Its current downland location, acquired in 1907, features a layout originally conceived by the renowned five-time Open Champion, John Henry Taylor. Situated on a free-draining chalk base, the course offers year-round playability. The terrain presents a classic downland challenge with undulating fairways and greens, demanding thoughtful shot-making, particularly when the wind comes into play from its elevated position overlooking the English Channel and the South Downs. While not among the most famous courses in England, it offers a genuine test of golf in a location known for its views. The course has seen modifications over the years by figures such as John Morrison and is currently undergoing further updates to bunkers and tees.
