Richmond Park Golf Course, located in London's largest Royal Park, offers a unique golfing experience across two 18-hole public courses, the Prince's and the Duke's. Established in 1923 with the opening of the Prince's course by Edward, Prince of Wales, a second course, the Duke's, followed in 1925, inaugurated by the Duke of York (later George VI). The courses were initially designed by John Henry Taylor and Fred Hawtree with the aim of providing accessible golf to a wider public. Situated within the picturesque parkland, players can expect to navigate mature trees and potentially encounter the park's famous deer. The Duke's course is generally considered the more challenging of the two, featuring water hazards and requiring longer tee shots. While not a traditional private club, Richmond Park Golf Course has a long history of providing public golf and is home to several golf clubs, including the Richmond Park Golf Club, which was formed in 1924.
