Malden Golf Club (Old)
Parkland Course in New Malden, England
Established in 1893 as Raynes Park Golf Club, Malden Golf Club moved to its current parkland location in New Malden, Surrey, in 1926. The course was opened with an exhibition match featuring golfing greats of the era, including Harry Vardon and Alex Herd, with Herd having provided advice on the layout. The course, measuring 6,295 yards from the white tees, is known for its two distinct nines. The initial nine traverses the lower section of the property, where meandering brooks significantly influence play on several holes. The inward nine occupies higher, more undulating ground, with strategically placed trees and bunkers demanding careful shot-making. While not a regular host of Open Qualifying, the club has seen amateurs participate in Regional Qualifying events.
