Haigh Hall Golf Club (Balcarres)

Nestled within the historic Haigh Woodland Park in England, Haigh Hall Golf Club offers a pleasant parkland golf experience. The club operates two courses: the main 18-hole, par-70 Balcarres course and the shorter 9-hole Crawford course. The Balcarres, opened in 2002, was designed and constructed with USGA specification greens and tees, providing a fair test for a range of handicaps without being overly penal. While not a traditional championship layout or an Open Qualifying venue, it provides an enjoyable round in a scenic setting. The course is set within the grounds of Haigh Hall, a 19th-century manor built for the Earls of Balcarres, adding a touch of historical context to the round. The club and course are managed by Wigan Council.
