Ashton-in-Makerfield Golf Club, situated in Lancashire, England, is a parkland course with a history dating back to 1902. Initially founded in nearby Bryn, the club relocated to its current site in Garswood Park in 1965, where a nine-hole course was established. An expansion in 1974 saw it become a full 18-hole layout. The course is set within the former estate of Lord Gerard, featuring mature trees, some of which were planted from countries across the British Empire. This gives the course a mature, established feel. It's known for having narrow, tree-lined fairways and relatively small greens, placing a premium on accurate ball striking. While not consistently an Open Qualifying venue, the club's professional has participated in PGA Professional Championship qualifiers, which are a pathway to the final event. The course measures 6223 yards from the white tees with a par of 70.
