Great Yarmouth & Caister Golf Club, established in 1882, is a historic links course located on the Norfolk coast. It holds the distinction of being the oldest golf club in Norfolk. The course, originally a 13-hole layout designed by Dr. Thomas Browne R.N., was extended to 18 holes by Tom Dunn in 1883. A notable and somewhat unusual characteristic of the course is its integration with the Great Yarmouth racecourse, requiring golfers to navigate around it. While Harry Colt is said to have designed a new layout in 1913, this was never fully realised due to World War I. The current revised course was completed in 1921. The course is known for its traditional links features, including rolling fairways, low-lying dunes, and strategically placed wooden-sleepered bunkers, offering a challenging experience particularly when coastal winds are a factor. The greens are recognised for their quality and stability. The club has a rich history, hosting events such as the Women's British Amateur in 1898 and the Norfolk Professional Championship in 1951.
