East Sussex National Golf Club (East Course)
Parkland Course in Uckfield, England
Designed by American architect Robert E. Cupp, the East Course at East Sussex National is a parkland layout established in 1990. It was envisioned as part of a comprehensive golf complex by Canadian entrepreneur Brian Turner in the mid-1980s. The course was built to USGA standards, featuring excellent drainage and putting surfaces. The East Course is a championship test, having hosted the European Open in 1993 and 1994, as well as being a regional Open Qualifying venue between 2010 and 2014. Playing over 7,000 yards from the back tees, it presents a significant challenge with strategically placed bunkers and undulating greens. The course encourages aggressive play off the tee, but accuracy is paramount to avoid punishing rough.
