East Brighton Golf Club
Downland Course in Brighton, England
Founded in 1893, East Brighton Golf Club is a downland course designed by James Braid, opening in its current configuration in 1908. Situated above Brighton Marina, the course offers views of the sea and surrounding areas. It's known for being playable year-round due to its chalk base, which aids drainage. The course presents a challenging yet fair test, with notable holes including the uphill par 4 first, a par 3 playing across a slope at the second, a spectacular downhill par 5 at the fifth, and a demanding uphill par 4 ninth. The inward nine features a tough par 4 fourteenth with the Brighton Racecourse along the right, and the round finishes with a downhill par 5. While not a regular Open Qualifying venue, the club has a rich history and a traditional clubhouse.
