Dunstable Downs Golf Club

Perched high on the Chiltern Hills, Dunstable Downs Golf Club offers a bracing golfing experience with expansive views across the surrounding English countryside. Golf has a history in Dunstable dating back to 1895, with the club officially forming in 1906. The current 18-hole layout, a blend of parkland and downland characteristics, was redesigned by the renowned architect James Braid in 1930 and opened in 1931. Three holes from the earlier 1912 course remain in play today. The course, known for its well-draining chalky subsoil, remains open and playable for much of the year. Dunstable Downs has previously been used as a qualifying location for The Open.
