Established in 1925, Leighton Buzzard Golf Club began its life as a nine-hole layout before evolving into the enjoyable 18-hole parkland course it is today. Set within a pleasant, undulating landscape on the Bedfordshire-Buckinghamshire border, the course features tree-lined fairways and mature trees that place a premium on accuracy. The greens are noted as being relatively small and often subtly contoured, protected by well-placed bunkers, demanding precise approach shots. While not among the longest courses, it is often described as a layout that requires thoughtful course management. The inward holes, particularly the 11th, 17th, and 18th, wind through an attractive forested part of the property, with the 11th sometimes highlighted as a signature hole. Notably, Ryder Cup star Ian Poulter honed his game here for several years as an assistant professional.
