Close House Golf Club (Lee Westwood Colt Course)

The Lee Westwood Colt Course at Close House, located in northern England, is a modern parkland design that pays homage to the Golden Age of golf course architecture, particularly the work of Harry Colt. Opened in May 2011, the course was routed by Scott Macpherson and incorporates the natural features of the 18th-century estate, including ancient woodland, a Roman fort, ha-ha walls, and an ice lake. The course has quickly gained recognition, achieving Great Britain & Ireland Top 100 status and hosting prestigious events such as the British Masters on the European Tour multiple times since 2017. While not an Open Qualifying location, it has a championship pedigree. The layout, playing to a par of 71 and stretching to around 6,850 yards from the tips, demands a strategic approach with a variety of holes, including strong par threes and a challenging finishing hole.
