Neath Golf Club
Heathland Course in Neath, Wales
Perched on a hill overlooking the town, Neath Golf Club offers a compelling round away from the coast in Wales. Founded in 1934 by M. H. Daniel, the club enlisted the expertise of James Braid to craft the course from challenging terrain. Braid's design, later updated by Brian Huggett, masterfully incorporates the natural undulations and features of the landscape, presenting a demanding yet fair test of golf. The heathland layout provides varied holes with heather, gorse, and dry stone walls coming into play. Elevated sections of the course afford magnificent and extensive views of the surrounding valleys and countryside. A particularly memorable hole is the 15th, known as "The Pulpit," which features a dramatic tee shot from a high vantage point. The course is known for being well-drained and recovering quickly from rain, offering year-round playability.
