Perched high above the Teifi Estuary in Wales, Cardigan Golf Club offers golfers a round steeped in history and engaging characteristics. Founded in 1895, the course evolved to its current 18-hole layout in the 1970s with contributions from Fred W. Hawtree. The terrain presents a captivating blend, often described as a mix of links, parkland, and cliff top, providing varied lies and challenges. Gorse is a prevalent feature, beautifully framing many of the holes but also demanding accuracy. While not one of the UK's most famous championship venues, Cardigan provides a good test for players of all levels, with undulating fairways, contoured greens, and strategically placed bunkers. Its elevated position ensures stunning panoramic views of Cardigan Bay and the surrounding coastline throughout the round. The course's natural drainage allows it to remain open year-round, often off standard tees and greens, even through the winter months. The club has a history of hosting Welsh Golfing Union Championships and regional events.
