Lothianburn Golf Club
Inland/Moorland/Parkland Course in Edinburgh, Scotland
Lothianburn Golf Club, known as "The Burn", was an 18-hole inland/moorland/parkland course located at the foot of the Pentland Hills in Edinburgh, Scotland. Founded in 1893, with the 18-hole layout designed by James Braid opening in 1929, the course was known for its hilly terrain and offered stunning views of Edinburgh and the surrounding countryside. It was a par-71 course. The club operated for 120 years before closing permanently at the end of 2013 due to declining membership and financial difficulties. Before its closure, the club welcomed visitors daily and provided various facilities including a clubhouse, pro shop, driving range, and practice greens. Rental services for clubs, trolleys, and electro-carts were also available.
