Carnoustie Golf Links (Burnside Course)

Carnoustie Golf Links is a world-leading golf destination in Angus, Scotland, offering three superb 18-hole courses: the Championship Course, the Burnside Course, and the Buddon Links Course, as well as a 5-hole course called The Nestie. Golf has been played here since the 16th century. The Burnside Course, designed by James Braid, is an interesting alternative to the Championship Course and was used as an Open Championship qualifying venue in 1953 when Ben Hogan qualified and subsequently won the Open. The Burnside Course measures 6028 yards with a par of 68. It features tight fairways, strategically placed pot bunkers, small, contoured greens, and the Barry Burn which comes into play on several holes. Notable holes include the par-3 5th ('Burn') and 14th ('Scoup'), and the challenging par-4 17th ('Sinkies') and 18th ('Lismore'). The facility offers amenities such as a pro shop, practice putting green, chipping area, indoor performance center, locker rooms, changing facilities, and a restaurant called The Rookery. Visitors are welcome on all three courses, but pre-booked tee times are strongly recommended, and appropriate golf attire is required.
