Woodford Golf Club ( Golf Club Course)
Parkland Course in Woodford Green, England
Established in 1890, Woodford Golf Club holds the distinction of being the second oldest golf club in the Essex Golf Union. The course, nestled within Epping Forest, was designed by Tom Dunn, who also notably laid out the Open Championship course at Royal Cinque Ports. Originally a 9-hole layout, it is typically played twice to complete an 18-hole round. The club endured through both World Wars, although it faced challenges during the second due to wartime restrictions on the land. The course offers a parkland or woodland test, featuring varied terrain within its ancient forest setting. Visitors are generally welcome.
