West Middlesex Golf Club
Parkland Course in Southall, England
West Middlesex Golf Club, located near London, is a historic parkland course with roots tracing back to 1891. Originally known as Ealing Golf Club, it moved to its current site and was renamed West Middlesex in 1893. The course as it largely plays today was significantly redesigned in 1910 by the renowned Scottish architect and five-time Open Champion, James Braid. Braid's influence is evident in the strategic use of the undulating terrain and natural features. The layout, while not overly long, demands accuracy, with narrow fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and tricky greens that challenge a golfer's touch and nerve. The course features some memorable holes, including a picturesque par 3 over water.
