Ealing Golf Club (Main Course)
Parkland Course in London, England
Ealing Golf Club, originally established as Castle Bar Golf Club in 1898, is a parkland course located in London, England. The club was renamed Ealing Golf Club shortly after its founding and became a members' club in 1901. The course was initially laid out by James Braid, with significant modifications made by Harry Colt in 1926 to accommodate the construction of the A40 road. While the routing has largely remained the same, the playing order has changed over the years, and ongoing improvements have been made to tees, bunkers, and irrigation systems. The course is known for its challenging yet enjoyable parkland layout, featuring mature trees and water hazards, particularly where the River Brent comes into play on holes like the 6th and 13th. Ealing has a history of producing accomplished players, with notable members achieving success in amateur and professional circuits, including one who won the Bronze Medal at The Open Championship in 1987 after qualifying. The club has also hosted Open Qualifying in the past.
