Thorpeness Golf Club, located on the Suffolk coast in England, offers a classic heathland test designed by five-time Open Champion James Braid. Opened in 1922, the course was laid out on what was initially barren heathland, later enhanced by significant tree planting. This 18-hole, par 70 course winds through heather, gorse, pine, and silver birch, providing a challenging yet picturesque round. Thorpeness has a history of hosting significant amateur and professional events, including the English Seniors Championship and the PGA Super 60's Tournament. While not an Open Qualifying location, it is recognized as one of the finer courses in Suffolk and the East Anglia region. A notable landmark is the 'House in the Clouds,' a converted water tower overlooking the fairways.
