Aldeburgh Golf Club, situated in Suffolk, England, boasts a rich history dating back to 1884, making it England's second oldest maritime heathland course. The Championship Course, an 18-hole layout, is known for its challenging nature, featuring gorse-lined fairways and views of the River Alde and the North Sea. Originally laid out by John Thomson and Willie Fernie, the course has seen modifications by notable architects including Willie Park Jr. John Henry Taylor, Harry Colt, and Alister MacKenzie. While traditionally a par 68 with no par fives for men, there are plans for changes to the course layout. Aldeburgh has a history of hosting significant amateur events, including the English Ladies Championship, the Oxford v Cambridge University match, and the R&A's Jacques Leglise Trophy. The club has also been a venue for The Golf Club Secretary's Regional Qualifying Tournament. The fast-draining sandy soil ensures the course is playable year-round, often without the need for temporary greens or tees.
