Perched high on the Mendip Hills in Somerset, The Mendip Golf Club offers a historic golfing experience with stunning panoramic views across the surrounding countryside. Originally founded in 1895, the club moved to its current elevated downland site in 1908. The initial 9-hole layout was designed by a Mr. Vardon, brother of the legendary Harry Vardon, with the course later extended to 18 holes by Frank Pennink in 1965 and further improved in 1988. Playing across the naturally draining, springy downland turf is a true pleasure. The course presents a fair yet challenging test, shaped by its undulating terrain and exposure to the elements, characteristic of its nearly 1,000-foot elevation.
